Reactions to the possible Abolishment of UPSR and PMR

“Standard of education would decline definitely if UPSR and PMR are abolished.” – Jim Chuah

“I think UPSR is still relevant. At least it can help to motivate and encourage the primary school pupils to study hard so that they are more prepared to face the secondary school syllabus. But I think the PMR can be abolished because the main purpose of the PMR examination is to determine which stream the students would go to in Form 4 and this can actually be done on school-based assessments.” – Tan Chuan Koon

“Do sufficient research to substitute the outdated one rather than trial and error... just like implementing Maths and Science in English... wasting time and people's money! – Zhi Xe Aenne

“UPSR and PMR should not be abolished but should be revamped.” – Nisha Raju

“I don't agree with the abolishing... they still can proceed with the exam but perhaps regardless of if the result is good or bad - just proceed to form one or form four.” – Lina Koh

"If UPSR and PMR make students study let it stay, for that's better than making them a nuisance in school as so would be the teachers. Any changes will take ages to implement and prove success. Good luck to the flip-flop ministry" – Kamarulzaman Abd Ghani
